Somehow this announcement has only left me with more questions than I had before.
The wait is almost over.
This news is still so new I don't even know how to pronounce his name yet. Is it Oklama like Obama? OK, Lama? O, K, Lama(r)?
KENDRICK LAMAR, New Album and New Name
After a five-year wait, Kendrick Lamar’s next album release is less than one month away.
K-Dot’s next release is called Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. He announced the project via post to oklama.com, using the letterhead for his pgLang brand. The official press release says, “All factual information for this release will come directly from this source only,"
The release also makes it sound like he’s chosen a new name. It says “from the desk of oklama” and uses the name oklama to refer to the artist formerly known as Kendrick Lamar.
No tour has been announced yet, but he does have two major festival appearances set for this summer -- Rolling Loud in May and Glastonbury in the U.K. in June.
