If you were hoping to wake up today nearly $2 billion richer from the Powerball drawing, you're going to have to wait a little bit longer. Last night's scheduled drawing was delayed and the numbers haven't been called yet.
Lottery officials say the drawing delayed because one of the participating state lotteries needed "extra time to complete the required security protocols." They have not yet provided a time when the drawing will take place. California Lottery officials explain, "Powerball has strict security requirements that must be met by all 48 lotteries before a drawing can occur" and that the delay was due to "an issue in another state."
