TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

A November hurricane is pretty rare. We've had tropical storms, but the last time a hurricane impacted the U.S. in November was in 1985 when Hurricane Kate slammed into Florida's panhandle.

This is being fueled by very warm ocean water.

It will be a weak category 1 storm, but still strong enough to cause a lot of damage.

Hurricane watches have been issued for Florida's east coast as subtropical storm Nicole moves closer to land and threatens to make landfall Wednesday night.

The storm is currently moving northwest toward the Bahamas at 9 mph with sustained winds of 45 mph. It is expected to strengthen as it moves west and could be a category 1 hurricane when it reaches the Florida coast. Residents in several counties are being warned to prepare for dangerous storm surges and strong winds as early as today. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency for 34 counties in the potential path of the storm. (CBS News)
