Clark told the court he’s a self-employed party DJ with zero income.
On Monday, the suspect in the shooting death of rapper Takeoff is due in court. Patrick Xavier Clark is expected to enter a plea with the help of a court-appointed attorney.
The judge set bail at $2 million. Clark is considered a flight risk. The arresting police officers found Clark with an expedited passport, a plane ticket to Mexico and a wad of cash. (KHOU-TV News, Houston)
Homicide detective Michael Burrow described in Friday’s press conference why it took one-month to identify Patrick Xavier Clark as the shooter when 30 people witnessed Takeoff’s death. Burrow lamented, (quote) “Literally, every single one of those people left the scene without giving a statement to police.”
Investigators pieced together video from surveillance cameras and personal cell phones to reconstruct the scene outside a Houston bowling alley. Police nabbed Clark based on the license plate of a get-away car and his fingerprints on a wine bottle that he held in his non-shooting hand. (KTRK-TV News, Houston)
