- The incident Monday night was terrifying not just for the players and the fans in the stands, but for the million of viewers watching at home.
- In instances like this, a player's well-being in far more important than who wins the game.
- It was ridiculous and heartless that the NFL initially wanted play to resume five minutes after Hamlin was carted away. Thankfully, that plan was dropped after the coaches on both teams spoke up.
In an update released Tuesday, the Buffalo Bills said safety Damar Hamlin is still in critical condition after he collapsed on the field during Monday night's game and was revived by medical personnel.
Hamlin is in intensive care at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he spent Monday night after going into cardiac arrest on the field after taking a hard hit while making a tackle.
The Bills statement added, "We are grateful and thankful for the outpouring of support we have received thus far.
A statement was also released Tuesday by Hamlin's family, which expressed "sincere gratitude" for the support they received during this "challenging time." In addition, they thanked the more than 180,000 fans who donated more than $5.2 million to his GoFundMe charity toy drive as of Tuesday evening.
The NFL said the Bills game against the Cincinnati Bengals would "not be resumed this week" and added that no decision has been made about whether the game would be resumed at a later date. (Fox News)
