TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- How did they not have a fence around that pond?
- The gator was just acting on instinct. It's not like euthanizing that one will make things safer.
- One little bit of good news -- the dog survived.
It's a fact of living in Florida, but also a nightmare -- an 87-year-old woman was killed in an alligator attack on Monday.
Gloria Serge was walking her small dog near a retention pond in her retirement community in Fort Pierce. The 10-foot gator emerged from the pond, knocked her over and grabbed her leg. It then got a hold of the dog, and Serge was killed trying to save her pet.
The gator has been caught and euthanized. (NBC News)
