RIHANNA: "Bitch Better Have My Money"

Apple Music reports a whopping 331% spike in RiRi’s streaming numbers on the day after the Super Bowl. This has led to an estimated $350,000 in music royalty payouts for songs like “We Found Love,” “Umbrella,” “Diamonds,” “Only Girl (In the World)” and “Bitch Better Have My Money.”

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • 331%? Now that’s a bump. And we aren’t talking about Fenty baby number-two.
  • So pay her what you owe her. And don't act like you forgot!
  • Even though halftime performers famously don't get paid, it sounds like Rihanna found a way to make it make sense for her and her Fenty brand.
  • And that's just the royalties so far -- that's to say nothing of all the other areas where her net worth increased.
  • They say there's no money in making music in the streaming era, but the rules clearly don't apply when you're Rihanna.

Rihanna is raking in royalties after singing “Bitch Better Have My Money” to millions watching the big game around the globe.

This wasn’t just the big game effect. It’s noted that this bump was greater than the spike of all of last year’s Super Bowl halftime performers, including Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.
