- Another day, another shooting in America.
- Some reports say the shooter was recently informed he was losing his job.
- Seems like it would be difficult to get a gun in a bank – or at least it should be.
Police identified the shooter who killed five and injured at least nine others Monday morning at a downtown Louisville, Kentucky, bank as a 25-year-old employee of the bank named Connor Sturgeon.
Police said he was killed after he fired at police and they “stopped that threat.”
Four others that died in the shooting were employees of the Old National Bank in downtown Louisville and were identified as 63-year-old Tommy Elliott, 64-year-old Jim Tutt, 40-year-old Josh Barrick and 45-year-old Juliana Farmer.
A fifth victim who died at the hospital was identified as 57-year-old Deana Eckert. It’s unclear whether she was a bank employee.
Elliott, who was senior vice president of the bank, was a good friend of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear as well as Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg.
Beshar said, “We lost four children of God today, one of whom was one of my closest friends.”
The nine people hospitalized included at least three police officers, one of who was shot in the head and is in critical condition after undergoing brain surgery. (WLKY)
