- Stupid pranks can sometimes be deadly.
- You’d think high school seniors would have enough sense to know throwing rocks at cars could be deadly.
- RIP Alexa Bartell and condolences to her friends and family.
Authorities said Wednesday that three high school seniors have been arrested for allegedly throwing a landscaping rock at a car driven by a Colorado resident, killing her as she was driving.
Jefferson County sheriff’s investigators said in a statement that 20-year-old Alexa Bartell “was killed when a rock was thrown through her windshield as she was driving” on April 19th.
Sheriff’s spokesperson Jacki Kelley told reporters that cellphone data and tips from the public led to authorities finding the suspects and their arrests.
Kelley said, “This case touched a lot of people deeply. This was a beautiful young woman with her whole life in front of her who was simply driving home, and her life was ended as a result of these acts. It was shocking to a community, and people wanted to find out who was involved." (NBC News)
