The city of Oakland will name a street after the hip-hop legend.
Tupac Shakur will get a different kind of "street cred" this summer when his old hometown of Oakland names a stretch of a prominent street in his honor.
KQED reports that a portion of MacArthur Boulevard will be christened as Tupac Shakur Way. The late rapper lived in an apartment on that stretch at one point in the 1990s.
This is the second time Oakland has celebrated 'Pac. In 2016, June 16 was proclaimed "Tupac Shakur Day" in the city.
