Tuesday is the new Friday … at least in New York City. According to bar and restaurant pros, the weekend is no longer the time to get wild in NYC -- the new night to throw down is Tuesday. Since most people are working remotely and spending weekends at summer homes, hot spots are empty on weekends. But people are back in town and ready to party by Tuesday. Diners are consuming 20% more wine on Tuesdays than on Fridays, according to informal surveys, and, according to one restaurateur, “Tuesday has become not just a night to have dinner, but a real night out.’’
Speaking of drinking wine …
Rosé all day … but remember to hydrate … A popular boxed wine company has devised a plan to remind customers to drink water as well as wine … by putting them together in one convenient carrier. The new box features side-by-side compartments with separate spigots, one with water and one with wine. On one side, there's a box of House Wine Rosé that contains the equivalent of eight bottles of wine. On the other, there's a box of Essentia water that contains 32 8-ounce glasses of water. The boxes go on sale June 26th.
