  • It's sad that on the anniversary of a mass shooting, there were more mass shootings happening.
  • Something has got to be done about the way we handle guns in this country.
  • According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 348 mass shootings so far this year in the United States.

President Joe Biden is urging for stricter gun control measures after multiple mass shootings took place over the holiday weekend.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Biden said that America needs to do more when it comes to gun control. He wants to see a ban on assault weapons, safe gun storage requirements and universal background checks.

Biden also acknowledged the Highland Park, Illinois mass shooting that took place last July 4th. There was a gathering held this year to honor the seven lives that were lost and 50 who were injured at a Fourth of July parade. Biden said, "Much more must be done in Illinois and across America to address the epidemic of gun violence that is tearing our communities apart." (ABC)
