The parents of an Indiana toddler who was fatally shot by his five-year-old brother have been charged with child neglect and drug charges.
Isiah Johnson, a 16-month-old boy in Lafayette, Indiana, was shot in the head on March 28th by his brother who found a gun inside their family's apartment. Isiah died and a medical examiner later found marijuana in his blood. His older brother who shot him tested positive for cocaine.
27-year-old Deonta Jermaine Johnson and 24-year-old Shatia Tiara Welch were arrested on Monday. Following the shooting, investigators found 92 fentanyl pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the apartment. In addition to the child neglect and drug charges, Johnson is also facing an obstruction charge because he tried to remove the drugs before police arrived at the scene. (WXIN-TV)
