A white mother said she was traveling from LA to Denver with her biracial daughter in October two years ago when she was stopped and questioned about trafficking.
She says she was targeted "based on a racist assumption about a mixed-race family" and she was forced to answer questions about their travels because a flight attendant flagged her as suspicious when boarding the plane.
A month after they were stopped, the incident was closed as "unfounded" due to a lack of evidence. Southwest Airlines said the company was conducting a review of the incident when it happened, but after two years there's still been no changes or acknowledgment of what happened.
The mother's suit against Southwest Airlines is designed to bring accountability to the airline and asks them to re-examine their training for potential situations like these. (NBC News)
