A 16-year-old Maryland girl was stabbed to death by another teenager after the two got into an argument about McDonald's dipping sauces.
Police say the girls, both from Waldorf, Maryland, picked up food from a Washington, DC McDonald's and got into a car together. The two then reportedly argued over the sauces they had been given and one of them pulled out a knife and fatally stabbed the other. The victim, identified as Naima Liggon, was taken to the hospital where she died. The other girl, who has not been named, was arrested and has been charged with second degree murder. She claims she acted in self defense.
Liggon's family has issued a statement saying, "The impact of this senseless loss has affected our family, our friends, and our community. Naima will never see her prom or her graduation. We will not get to see her graduate from college or get married or have kids." It continued, "If I had one message for parents it’s: love on your kids. Make sure they know they are loved when they walk out your door because you never know if that may be the last time you see them. We love Naima and will miss her incredibly and she left a lasting imprint on our hearts. I pray for our family and her friends and also for the family of the young lady who took her life." (WUSA-TV)
