He was going 90 mph in a 55-mph zone.
TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- The cops probably put an outrageous figure just to make sure people actually look at the ticket and the court date.
- Police are working to change their system to avoid any other confusion like this in the future.
- Super speeder tickets are generally around $1,000.
A Georgia man was at a loss for words when he got pulled over for going 35 miles per hour over the speed limit. The fine on the super speeder ticket was listed as $1.4 million.
Connor Cato was going 90 mph in a 55-mph zone in September when he got pulled over. He said he expected a super speeder ticket, but he had no idea it would be over $1 million.
When he called the court to ask if it was a typo, he was told he could either pay the fine or appear in court. He was told that the officer's software automatically puts $999,999 as a base amount for super speeder tickets since all super speeders have to appear in court. But fortunately fo the driver, he won't have to pay such a hefty amount if he appears in court in December. (USA Today)
