Court reporter Meghann Cuniff offered a fact-check this week, when she reported that he isn’t actually in gen-pop as was previously reported. Instead, he was transferred from North Kern State Prison to the Super-max California Correctional Institute.
Cuniff notes, “California Correctional Institute is in Tehachapi, about 85 miles southeast of Kern. It’s designated as a Super-max prison, so ‘general population’ there is not quite the same as general population elsewhere.” (Legal Affairs and Trials)
