The House of Representatives have planned a vote tomorrow on a bill that would force TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to either sell the social media platform or face a ban in the U.S.
Despite former President Donald Trump saying he does not support a ban of TikTok, the vote is expected to pass in the House with bipartisan support and President Joe Biden has said he would sign the legislation if it passes in the Senate and makes it to his desk. Congress has charged TikTok with risking national security by surveilling the American public. If the bill is signed into law, TikTok will be unavailable in app stores unless it severs ties with ByteDance within 180 days. (CBS News)
