Quavo and TakeOff

No, the Migos rapper isn’t running for office — at least not yet. Instead, he and the veep linked up for a fireside chat at Quavo’s inaugural Rocket Foundation anti-gun violence summit. The timing of the event commemorated what would have been Takeoff’s 30th birthday. Mayor Andre Dickens recognized Quavo's advocacy and how he was motivated by his brother's murder by declaring June 18th "Takeoff Day." During the summit, Quavo advocated for gun control reform, calling for stronger controls to “keep these types of incidents from happening to people going anywhere and thinking they can hurt somebody where it shouldn’t happen.”

After her appearance at the Rocket Foundation summit, Harris joined community members for a Juneteenth block party in Atlanta.
