Where you live could determine how long you live. In fact, according to the Healthiest States Index, Americans living in the healthiest states can live up to eight years longer than those in less healthy states. The study ranked all 50 states based on things like clean air, gym access, smoking rates, number of parks and trails, and healthy food options. According to the data, these are the healthiest states in the country:
- Vermont
- New Hampshire
- Washington
- Maine
- Utah
- Colorado
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- Oregon
- Iowa
The least healthy state was Louisiana, followed by Tennessee, West Virginia, Nevada, and Alabama.
